</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c0AeF3QJ-4w/UmI2aeE4l4I/AAAAAAAACgQ/ZU6cCEs7vNs/s1600/9.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c0AeF3QJ-4w/UmI2aeE4l4I/AAAAAAAACgQ/ZU6cCEs7vNs/s640/9.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I recently was given a set of cute baby clothes. Score! The only problem was that they had an unattractive and random logo sewn smack bang to the front of each and every item. Boo. To cover them up, I decided to try a bit of appliqué, and have since been customising practically each and every item in Baby's wardrobe! Here's how you can do this yourself.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #999999;">Materials:</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #999999;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #999999;">• Scrap woven fabric or felt </span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #999999;">• Fusible interfacing</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #999999;">• Template of your appliqué shape</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #999999;">• Fabric adhesive</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #999999;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #999999;">Method:</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #999999;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #999999;">This is what the front looked like after I unpicked the badge. I thought it was a shame to leave the punctured fabric exposed, so I set about sketching some cute little shapes that were not too fiddly so they would be easy to sew.</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-EqU5wnZArcA/UmIynes5dXI/AAAAAAAACfc/gY_p4cu643M/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-EqU5wnZArcA/UmIynes5dXI/AAAAAAAACfc/gY_p4cu643M/s640/1.jpg" width="640" /></a><span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"> I came up with a whale shape (no coincidence there, at 8 months now I believe I have just about transitioned from walrus to whale status).</span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IGna_PkBoyg/UmIzjm_O85I/AAAAAAAACfk/P7uQlkuzXvo/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IGna_PkBoyg/UmIzjm_O85I/AAAAAAAACfk/P7uQlkuzXvo/s640/2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Iron your fusible interfacing to the wrong side of the appliqué fabric. Pin your template to the right side of fabric and cut out. Apply a little fabric adhesive to the back of your appliqué shape and position onto the garment in the spot you want.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FNyrmodJ9-o/UmI0SaQxcCI/AAAAAAAACfs/EFiec6majIU/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FNyrmodJ9-o/UmI0SaQxcCI/AAAAAAAACfs/EFiec6majIU/s640/3.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Put your sewing machine onto a satin stitch (a tight zigzag stitch). This is what the settings on my machine looked like.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YUhKGAzDEqA/UmI0yIi1qQI/AAAAAAAACf0/bXqkGa9Gc8s/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YUhKGAzDEqA/UmI0yIi1qQI/AAAAAAAACf0/bXqkGa9Gc8s/s640/4.jpg" width="640" /></a><div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Tip: it's also important to iron some fusible interfacing to the wrong side of the garment behind the appliqué patch, to stabilise the fabric and avoid distortion (puckering) when you sew. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qAf8WDtFToc/UmI1FOm4uAI/AAAAAAAACf8/8tNfwDzgMl8/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qAf8WDtFToc/UmI1FOm4uAI/AAAAAAAACf8/8tNfwDzgMl8/s640/5.jpg" width="640" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qAf8WDtFToc/UmI1FOm4uAI/AAAAAAAACf8/8tNfwDzgMl8/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This is what an appliqué looks like on the wrong side of the fabric. After sewing, trim away the interfacing that lies outside of the sewing line, to give you a nice neat finish.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NRLZhp0kUb8/UmI18X7XJjI/AAAAAAAACgI/0I4vOhN8j2w/s1600/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NRLZhp0kUb8/UmI18X7XJjI/AAAAAAAACgI/0I4vOhN8j2w/s640/6.jpg" width="640" /></a><span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">And here's some more appliqué inspiration for you, enjoy!</span></div>

These baby neckerchief bibs fit the bill to a T. Make them in an assortment of colours and patterns. They are so cute and practical too: help bub fight the dribble and stay looking cool at the same time!</span><span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Pin and sew perimeter, leaving a small gap to turn. (Choose a matching thread, I just used white to better demonstrate for this tutorial).</span></div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ah5hvnr4ZWU/UkhYFaZq2SI/AAAAAAAACbs/9E18iyah3mg/s1600/8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ah5hvnr4ZWU/UkhYFaZq2SI/AAAAAAAACbs/9E18iyah3mg/s640/8.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
Here's a DIY you can knock out in just a few minutes. A really simple and inexpensive way to decorate bare walls using materials you probably have lying around at home. A great quick fix!!!<br />
<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>You'll need:<br />
<br />
• Fabric (a bit bigger than your frame)<br />
• A wooden frame<br />
• Hammer<br />
• Thumb Tacks<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-utQbDRBwNT4/UkhZPWkfwiI/AAAAAAAACcA/S2YkTF5AhfI/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-utQbDRBwNT4/UkhZPWkfwiI/AAAAAAAACcA/S2YkTF5AhfI/s640/1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Method:<br />
<br />
Lay your fabric right side down and place frame centred on top, taking care to align the fabric print.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2LrsGJ35WIw/UkhZKCEOTPI/AAAAAAAACb4/sY0nOWQWYHs/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2LrsGJ35WIw/UkhZKCEOTPI/AAAAAAAACb4/sY0nOWQWYHs/s640/2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
Fold fabric top and bottom onto the frame, pulling fairly taught, and hammer into place.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-H7CgMWQjvQA/UkhZ10q5G5I/AAAAAAAACcI/-sToxLDcPzE/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-H7CgMWQjvQA/UkhZ10q5G5I/AAAAAAAACcI/-sToxLDcPzE/s640/3.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now repeat for the sides.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sc3dJbnrFJ4/UkhaCnqyC0I/AAAAAAAACcQ/qnMkwx5HTLY/s640/4.jpg" width="640" /></span><span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;">Fold the corners like this and then tack into place...</span><span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KjqiFEbxnJY/UkhaRK4hrjI/AAAAAAAACcY/F4RqID2Zod4/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; display: inline !important; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KjqiFEbxnJY/UkhaRK4hrjI/AAAAAAAACcY/F4RqID2Zod4/s640/5.jpg" width="640" /> </a></span></div>

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-d3dJz2uS7Ew/UjxbBjrbSXI/AAAAAAAACZc/PMEm7WWRCGg/s1600/10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-d3dJz2uS7Ew/UjxbBjrbSXI/AAAAAAAACZc/PMEm7WWRCGg/s400/10.jpg" width="266" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XRtHe09sQPg/UjxbPRcoSrI/AAAAAAAACZk/b6OQ6plNHbg/s1600/11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XRtHe09sQPg/UjxbPRcoSrI/AAAAAAAACZk/b6OQ6plNHbg/s400/11.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
These simple hanging pot plant holders are a really effective way to add a focal point to an otherwise blank corner, helping to introduce different levels of interest to your home decor. I like how the minimalistic natural wood, whites and desaturated greens stylishly transition the sometimes-dowdy Macrame fad of the 1970's effortlessly into the 21st century. <br />
<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
To make one of these yourself, you'll need:<br />
<br />
A wooden ring<br />
4 strands of yarn, twice the length you want your finished pot holder to be<br />
A plant in a pot<br />
<br />
Method:<br />
<br />
Thread the four strands of yarn evenly through the ring and knot. Separate the 8 strands into four pairs.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cAkaJ22jcxA/Ujxd4XJd5EI/AAAAAAAACZw/9QRV9azAHlQ/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cAkaJ22jcxA/Ujxd4XJd5EI/AAAAAAAACZw/9QRV9azAHlQ/s640/1.jpg" width="360" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DC4U_l-RFCo/Ujxd52WYF8I/AAAAAAAACZ4/4TLZxEK0oIg/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DC4U_l-RFCo/Ujxd52WYF8I/AAAAAAAACZ4/4TLZxEK0oIg/s640/2.jpg" width="360" /></a></div>
<span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;">Measure down to the point where you want your pot plant to hang and knot the yarn pairs.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gBESIcBKXho/UjxencMg7dI/AAAAAAAACaA/HWKvlCCxDKQ/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gBESIcBKXho/UjxencMg7dI/AAAAAAAACaA/HWKvlCCxDKQ/s640/3.jpg" width="360" /></a><span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;">Now knot each strand with a partner from the neighbouring pair.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JeUBReuwND8/UjxfBgr7QRI/AAAAAAAACaI/9XEdY8roOAM/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JeUBReuwND8/UjxfBgr7QRI/AAAAAAAACaI/9XEdY8roOAM/s400/4.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"> Don't forget to knot the furthest left and right strands together too, so you are essentially creating a ring of knots.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1p9Ua35bwyA/UjxfJH5bjOI/AAAAAAAACaQ/wczaWyQclN0/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1p9Ua35bwyA/UjxfJH5bjOI/AAAAAAAACaQ/wczaWyQclN0/s400/5.jpg" width="400" /></a><span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">Repeat this process once more.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ERKjrSCcEYg/UjxfZQTfQGI/AAAAAAAACaY/HDTqVVrDkDE/s1600/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ERKjrSCcEYg/UjxfZQTfQGI/AAAAAAAACaY/HDTqVVrDkDE/s640/6.jpg" width="360" /></a><span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">Then knot all the ends together and trim tails.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TTWyHm3Yzas/Ujlr8QwkpiI/AAAAAAAACXg/SSKFDpg5Wo0/s1600/four_greys.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TTWyHm3Yzas/Ujlr8QwkpiI/AAAAAAAACXg/SSKFDpg5Wo0/s640/four_greys.jpg" width="640" /></a><span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;">I've been obsessing over baby leggings recently and here are some of the results. These are really basic to make and great for using up smaller scraps of knit jersey fabric, of which I have oodles in my stash as a byproduct of my shop... I tried to stick to gender-neutral colours and prints as well as using an array of different weight/stretch fabrics to see what I liked best (super stretchy wins in the end). Some have elastic in the waistband but I actually prefer without. I'm going to wait until bub has arrived though so I can put them to the test to see if they actually stay up!</span><span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"></span></div>
<a name='more'></a><span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;">After a recent ultrasound, our Doctor revealed that our baby has 'longer than average legs'(!), which doesn't really come as a surprise to us as we are both pretty giant-esque. So I made a few pairs of these leggings a bit longer to see how they end up fitting. Anyway, am pleased with the results! I'm hoping to develop a kiddies range for the shop for next year, so this is just the beginning of the developmental phase...</span><br />
<br />
<span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;">To make your own, all you need to do is use an existing pair of leggings you like the fit of to get the pattern for your fabric, then cut 2 pieces. Sew the individual leg seams RST, turn one leg right side out, pop it inside the other leg, align the leg seams, pin, then sew the entire crotch seam in one fell swoop. Finish by hemming the top and bottoms using the method that you prefer.</span><span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;">Proper tutorial with pics to follow soon, until then, here's a sneaky peak to get some inspiration... </span><br />

Luckily for me, I love a good DIY challenge, so rather than spending a small fortune on lighting for 6 rooms plus hallways, I took the opportunity to try out a self-made string lampshade. It cost under 10 Euros for all the materials (with which you can make around 4 lamps), and it was a lot of fun to make. I love the intricate pattern that the criss-crossing of the string forms, and the shadow play cast on the walls.<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Method:<br />
<br />
Blow up your balloon. Trace the diameter of your light fitting to the base of the balloon with marker pen. Since I couldn't find perfectly round balloons at the time I made my lampshade, I decided to leave a bigger hole at the bottom of the lampshade, so as to make a domed shape rather than a perfect sphere. So, in order to do the same, draw a bigger circle at the top of your balloon.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zJgXRZhx6JA/UjgssJFegbI/AAAAAAAACWE/43JCOcFyhp0/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zJgXRZhx6JA/UjgssJFegbI/AAAAAAAACWE/43JCOcFyhp0/s640/3.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-EwK3_xbV9jY/UjgsuUXm8BI/AAAAAAAACWM/vkLB7WP6FR0/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-EwK3_xbV9jY/UjgsuUXm8BI/AAAAAAAACWM/vkLB7WP6FR0/s640/2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Next, suspend your balloon with a piece of string. I used a coat stand and a piece of dowling wood (which, incidentally, I had lying around from when I made inexpensive curtain rails...). Spread a plastic sheet on the floor to protect from drips and mix your wall paper paste, following the instructions on the packet. Smear your balloon with olive oil to prevent the string from sticking when you go to pop the balloon at the end.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3YP7LaVZv9I/UjguGTCWxnI/AAAAAAAACWo/l51S5EByIl4/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3YP7LaVZv9I/UjguGTCWxnI/AAAAAAAACWo/l51S5EByIl4/s640/4.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Dip your string into the paste solution and begin to wrap around the balloon, avoiding your marked areas. Use any pattern you like, but try to vary the directions a bit so you end up with a solid structure that will be able to support itself.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4xwx3BzG6vM/Ujgt9afltJI/AAAAAAAACWY/Yy7xFa2A4Rk/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4xwx3BzG6vM/Ujgt9afltJI/AAAAAAAACWY/Yy7xFa2A4Rk/s640/5.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
When you are happy with the density of the string network, allow to dry, at least overnight, then pop the balloon. Or, do as I did and forget about it for a few days, by which stage the balloon will have shrunk away from the string all by itself. Voila!<br />

I recently moved from London to the Bavarian Alps. The main difference between renting in London vs Germany? Germans take everything with them when they move out! Whereas in London you can expect to find a flat at least partially furnished with white goods, bed, cupboards, couch etc, the Germans strip the place bare. I'm talking no shower attachment or shower curtain, no kitchen stove, fridge or washing machine, no curtain rails and no light fittings! What the???!<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
We're expecting our first baby boy at the end of the year, so part of the reason we moved to the German countryside is so that we could escape the urban crush and have more space for our growing family. The flip side of this newfound luxurious room to roam is that we all of a sudden had so many rooms to furnish.<br />
<br />
Luckily, people here have a penchant for 'new' things, which means they regularly declutter their 'old' junk (read: priceless vintage finds that would sell for an arm and a leg in the city). So thankfully we were given some beautiful pieces of furniture, like this 1929 wardrobe (also came with a matching dresser and bedside table) and bar, which I repainted in a teal-y turquoise blue to match. Am also in love with this mini Gypsy chest of drawers, which we found at a local flea market for 30 euros. Love a good bargain!<br />

These soft blocks make a great play toy for babies and little kiddies. They love to throw and catch them, build them into towers and knock them down again. Especially fun is just leaning on them and falling into them like a stack of pillows. Always fun no matter what, and the best thing is that you can't break them. Win win!<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
Here are some I made recently as part of my niece's 1st Birthday present. They are really quick and easy to make, here's how I made mine...<br />
<br />
What you need:<br />
<br />
• Six squares of fabric, choose any size you like. Opt for bright, bold colours with plenty of contrast to stimulate little baby eyes. I also chose to include a tactile fabric for 2 sides of each block as the kiddies love exploring the textures. Towelling, corduroy and sweater jersey all work well.<br />
• A bag of Polyfil stuffing<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hYJJ35cXCBE/UhXC006hBtI/AAAAAAAACJ8/4Log3PNZMqc/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hYJJ35cXCBE/UhXC006hBtI/AAAAAAAACJ8/4Log3PNZMqc/s640/1.jpg" width="466" /></a></div>

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Start by cutting and arranging the squares into the shape of a cross. Then begin to sew the edges together to form the cube.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gQXINXRoEjY/UhXGo88KKAI/AAAAAAAACKQ/rwmek3-VnGY/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gQXINXRoEjY/UhXGo88KKAI/AAAAAAAACKQ/rwmek3-VnGY/s640/2.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />
<br />
If you've never done this before it might help to construct a little model out of paper first. It may seem tricky at first but you'll soon piece it together. When you get to the last edge, leave a gap to turn.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4F0786yldi8/UhXG257VLWI/AAAAAAAACKg/wSPcU6FZW7Y/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4F0786yldi8/UhXG257VLWI/AAAAAAAACKg/wSPcU6FZW7Y/s640/3.jpg" width="640" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4F0786yldi8/UhXG257VLWI/AAAAAAAACKg/wSPcU6FZW7Y/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: black;"><br /></span></a><span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><span style="color: #999999;">Flip the cube right side out and use a knitting needle to push the corners into points. If you wish to be really precise you could press the seams to get nice crisp edges.</span></span><span style="clear: left; color: black; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nwAfj0MlSAk/UhXGxSnQv-I/AAAAAAAACKc/JPCgKMK5ogo/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nwAfj0MlSAk/UhXGxSnQv-I/AAAAAAAACKc/JPCgKMK5ogo/s640/4.jpg" width="640" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nwAfj0MlSAk/UhXGxSnQv-I/AAAAAAAACKc/JPCgKMK5ogo/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: #666666; text-align: left;"><br /></span></a><span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><span style="color: #999999;">Stuff the cube with a good amount of Polyfil, then add a bit more.</span></span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6EVoEyFFotY/UhXH9dZV0FI/AAAAAAAACKs/Y7BUlVepboc/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6EVoEyFFotY/UhXH9dZV0FI/AAAAAAAACKs/Y7BUlVepboc/s640/5.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
When you're happy with how it's looking, whipstitch the opening closed by hand.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KT1xWFFF47k/UhXIJ1r24HI/AAAAAAAACK0/ZLs3a1tVRZA/s1600/all+blocks.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KT1xWFFF47k/UhXIJ1r24HI/AAAAAAAACK0/ZLs3a1tVRZA/s640/all+blocks.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
Now make some more. Good things come in threes...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5ZE0A4S-xzQ/UhXIV28u8-I/AAAAAAAACK8/tJdSLqhgmhw/s1600/stack.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5ZE0A4S-xzQ/UhXIV28u8-I/AAAAAAAACK8/tJdSLqhgmhw/s640/stack.jpg" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
These make such cute baby shower, birthday or newborn gifts and they are the perfect project to use up all those mix n match fabrics in your stash.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I've been getting really into Pinterest lately as a way of collecting and archiving all the inspiring things I see all around the web. Gone are the days of bookmarking it would seem; really good news for me because I never knew which folder I ended up saving things to anyway!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The visual focus of Pinterest definitely makes it attractive, inviting and easy to navigate (and easy to get lost in for hours on end). I have different boards to cater to a variety of things that float my boat, such as inspiring <a href="http://pinterest.com/chichidee/fabric/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #45818e;">fabric prints</span></a>, clever <a href="http://pinterest.com/chichidee/furniture-and-storage/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #45818e;">home storage</span></a> ideas, <a href="http://pinterest.com/chichidee/cool-handmade-jewellery/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #45818e;">cool handmade products</span></a> from fellow indie designer-makers and paying hommage to my <a href="http://pinterest.com/chichidee/i-love-leggings/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #45818e;">obsession with leggings</span></a>. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I also have boards dedicated to <a href="http://pinterest.com/chichidee/chi-chi-dee-turban-headbands/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #45818e;">my own products</span></a>, a sort of categorised look book. I find that many people actually find me through Pinterest, so it seems like a really good marketing tool for independent sellers. But my favourite board is the one where I share my <a href="http://pinterest.com/chichidee/chi-chi-dee-tutorials/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #45818e;">DIY tutorial ideas</span></a>. I've found so much inspiration for my creative endeavours though the online realm over the years, so being able to contribute some of my own ideas is a nice way to give back.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
If you use Pinterest too, I'd love you to drop by and <a href="http://pinterest.com/chichidee/boards/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #45818e;">follow me</span></a>. Or if you're new to all this then you can quickly and easily <a href="http://pinterest.com/join?username=chichidee&boardname=chi-chi-dee-tutorials" target="_blank"><span style="color: #45818e;">register here</span></a>. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This post was part of the Pin It Forward UK campaign, where bloggers from around the country were invited to share their inspiration behind why they use Pinterest. Big thanks for inviting me to take part, and now onto the next blogger in the chain: the lovely Amelia aka <a href="http://sewinglondon.co.uk/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #45818e;">The Little Tailoress</span></a>. On her blog she shares her beautiful sewing projects, other crafty musings and some fantastic tutorials on how to <a href="http://sewinglondon.co.uk/bound-buttonhole-tutorial/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #45818e;">sew bound button holes</span></a>, <a href="http://sewinglondon.co.uk/tutorial-french-seams/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #45818e;">make French seams</span></a> and <a href="http://sewinglondon.co.uk/tips-for-working-with-vintage-patterns/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #45818e;">adapt vintage sewing patterns</span></a>. <br />
Today was 19 degrees Celsius!!! That is WHOPPING by London standards of late. To celebrate all those new sensations of lightness and brightness, I made a strawberry, apple and rhubarb mocktail reminiscent of traditional English country gardens (recipe to follow in issue 30 of <a href="http://www.molliemakes.com/category/gathered/" target="_blank">Gathered Magazine</a>) and sewed up a whole lotta ombre dip-dye scarves with dainty little rolled hems for <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/ChiChiDee?ref=si_shop" target="_blank">the shop</a>. All topped off by a bit of park-walking and balcony-knitting. Why can't everyday be this uplifting?!Leanne Garrityhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16808436507174503268noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7860419335448047877.post-40450454040143073602013-04-21T09:49:00.000+01:002013-04-21T09:49:52.430+01:00New Tank Tops<a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/129700847/lace-back-tank-top-with-scoop-hem-black?ref=v1_other_1" target=_"blank"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AQTX5jLZQ3s/UXOilE1E7LI/AAAAAAAACEM/5EnC_XmUoJ4/s320/2_square.jpg" /></a><a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/129700847/lace-back-tank-top-with-scoop-hem-black?ref=v1_other_1" target=_"blank"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RGOYnP7La9M/UXOilHKBKYI/AAAAAAAACEQ/rxpyuwRQLTs/s320/3_square.jpg" /></a><a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/129689341/tank-top-with-scoop-hem-black-tie-dye?ref=v1_other_2" target=_"blank"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mRhhilJHlcs/UXOiqd_y67I/AAAAAAAACEc/XQYdp8H5bNY/s320/3_square.jpg" /></a><a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/129689341/tank-top-with-scoop-hem-black-tie-dye?ref=v1_other_2" target=_"blank"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-y5_7yjOIAr8/UXOiqeOqbhI/AAAAAAAACEg/wmvpo9L3jdw/s320/4_square.jpg" /></a><br />

In honour of my recent and belated reunion with my old friend, the sun, I have made some fresh new <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/ChiChiDee?section_id=12433657" target="_blank">tank tops</a> for <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/ChiChiDee?ref=si_shop" target="_blank">my shop</a>. I know I said I was trying to bring more colour into my life, but I couldn't resist a bit of monochrome tie dye and, well, lacy backs just work well in black.<br />

What do you think of my <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/129831736/triangles-print-tank-top?ref=shop_home_active" target="_blank">potato-printed tank top</a>? I love how the triangle on the pyramid pinnacle just pops out! Definitely best paired with zingy lipstick. I'm loving this <a href="http://www.maybelline.com/Products/Lip-Makeup/Lip-Color/Color-Sensational-Vivids.aspx#shadedetails" target="_blank">neon red colour by Maybelline</a>.<br />

When you're in need of a new accessory to pep up an outfit, look no further than your sewing stash. I love giving tucked-away things their moment to shine and the fact that it costs me nothing!<br />

Do you have a favourite t-shirt from childhood? Recently, on a trip back to Mum's place,<br />
I rediscovered my old Brownies t-shirt in surprisingly good nick. The only problem was<br />
that the neck and arm cuffs were too small, so I decided to revamp it. Here's how you can<br />
do it too:<br />

<br />
<br />
I've been doing a bit of DIY around the flat lately and have been trying to do it on the cheap. Art prints can be really expensive but here's a way to whip up your own art in minutes and all it really costs you is the price of the frame<span style="background-color: white; color: #444444; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: x-small; line-height: 16px;"> </span>plus a bit of card stock and printer ink. Here's how I did it.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-32MpuSlZ4kY/UWUmK0HWRCI/AAAAAAAABqo/IdmLsNZ9O_I/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-32MpuSlZ4kY/UWUmK0HWRCI/AAAAAAAABqo/IdmLsNZ9O_I/s640/1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Take a photo you like and open it up in Photoshop. I used an image of <span style="color: #e06666;">my </span><a href="http://chichideehandmade.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/typewriter-love.html"><span style="color: #e06666;">typewriter</span></a>. Bold, high contrast pics tend to work well.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Now you need to remove the background. Using the quick selection tool, draw on the area you want to make white. When you're happy with the selection, press shift+del to bring up the 'fill' window. Where it says 'use' choose white then hit ok. You may need to feather edges to get a smooth transition.<br />

Now it's time to play around with the threshold. Press on the 'create new fill or adjustment layer' icon at the bottom right of your screen. Select 'threshold' and play around with the levels until you're happy with the effect.<br />

<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Print out your image onto white card. Take a black piece of card and create a mount board by cutting out a neat window in it with a ruler and scalpel. I made the sides the width of my ruler, the top one cm<br />
wider and the bottom 2cms wider. Pop it in your frame and voila! Easy print at home art.<br />

If you're not that confident with photo editing then you can always go to <a href="http://graphicsfairy.blogspot.co.uk/"><span style="color: #e06666;">this amazing website</span></a>, The Graphics Fairy, where Karen has made available thousands of carefully selected and restored vintage images. They are free to use and are copyright free so you can simply click and print. I ended up<br />
using these cool sewing themed images in my studio...<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
You've seen it now you'd better believe it. Galaxy prints are back in! Previously only to be found on the backs of die-hard Dungeons and Dragons tournament attendees or hanging in musty new age shops between the wizard posters and dream catchers. But...!<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>Any excuse to take paint to fabric and I'm in. Plus, I actually really like how it turned out! Here's how I did it:<br />
<br />
You'll need a plain black t-shirt. I made this one myself but just grab whatever you have to hand.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8k1M-mRXamo/UVXU5252A2I/AAAAAAAABos/v8E2P25c4QY/s1600/plain_black_tshirt.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8k1M-mRXamo/UVXU5252A2I/AAAAAAAABos/v8E2P25c4QY/s640/plain_black_tshirt.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
You'll also need heat-set fabric paints and an assortment of brushes/sponges/sticks/any other tools to apply the paint with. Plus, some bleach and, if you like, a spritzy spray bottle.<br />
<br />
Method:<br />
I diluted some bleach with water and squirted it on. Then I just grabbed the bottle and squeezed it on neat. Leave for a few hours to do it's thing (I did it in the bath), then wash thoroughly and hang to dry.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FOWheg4PdcU/UVXVgfkoyJI/AAAAAAAABo0/8wRMtQMAwM8/s1600/bleach_stage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FOWheg4PdcU/UVXVgfkoyJI/AAAAAAAABo0/8wRMtQMAwM8/s640/bleach_stage.jpg" width="640" /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FOWheg4PdcU/UVXVgfkoyJI/AAAAAAAABo0/8wRMtQMAwM8/s1600/bleach_stage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Set up your painting area and get to work! Apply colour sparingly in circular motions and build up the pigment to get your nebula look. Use lots of different colours like blue, purple, pink, yellow, green and even dark grey. Using a round brush helps to get that cloudy effect. Use flat brushes to do<br />
elliptical orbits and swirly patterns.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ycoecAqBsCc/UVXWwaHZZZI/AAAAAAAABo8/hYYUWFZ-KeE/s1600/work_in_progress.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="475" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ycoecAqBsCc/UVXWwaHZZZI/AAAAAAAABo8/hYYUWFZ-KeE/s640/work_in_progress.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Now for the fun bit! Using a toothbrush, load up with white paint and flick to get a smattering of stars. Use yellow and other bright colours too for a more dynamic star-scape. Make pulsar stars by dabbing a blob of paint and using a stick (or knitting needle in my case!) to drag out the 'flashes'. You can do shooting stars in the same way.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2MUTzNTL7kI/UVXYI330HpI/AAAAAAAABpE/DDCDyWmJBqM/s1600/pattern_detail.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2MUTzNTL7kI/UVXYI330HpI/AAAAAAAABpE/DDCDyWmJBqM/s640/pattern_detail.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Allow your t-shirt to dry then heat set paint with an iron. Behold </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
the infinite awesomeness of your cosmic creation. Simply stellar.</div>

<br /></div>
These unconventional picture frames are so easy to make! Plus this is a great recycling project to use up all those fabric scraps I know you have lying around.<br />
<div>
<a name='more'></a>To start, you'll need an old frame. You can pick these up for next to nothing at charity shops or on the street for free.</div>
<div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
You'll also need some fabric scrap strips, string and glue. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nXykP6OeE34/UVVtZgChvLI/AAAAAAAABn8/bqKPdkCd6Sw/s1600/2_scraps.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nXykP6OeE34/UVVtZgChvLI/AAAAAAAABn8/bqKPdkCd6Sw/s640/2_scraps.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
If you want to display a picture with a wooden peg as I've done then you can tie this on before you start. Now wrap the fabric strips around the frame on the diagonal, glueing as you go. </div>
<div>

Switch up the fabrics when each strip runs out, it doesn't have to be precise. Allow to dry before pegging up a piccie. Fin.</div>

I woke up this morning and looked out onto my balcony with a start. For a moment there I thought the flowers were blooming but alas, it was just the snow covered leaves glistening in the watery light.<br />

Determined not to let the dreary skies get the better of me, I settled down to a bit of indoor gardening.<br />

I trimmed some branches from my sad looking tree and fished an empty juice bottle out of the recycling. Then, taking inspiration from <a href="http://www.molliemakes.com/gathered/gathered-by-mollie-makes-technical-questions-answered/"><span style="color: #e06666;">a tutorial by Helena, Mollie Makes editor, that I saw in issue 20 </span></a><br />
<a href="http://www.molliemakes.com/gathered/gathered-by-mollie-makes-technical-questions-answered/"><span style="color: #e06666;">of Gathered magazine</span></a>, I painted it in my favourite duck egg blue. (Click the link to download a copy of Gathered to see how it's done!) So therapeutic! I rummaged for around for some more jam jars in<br />
the kitchen cupboard and then painted them in complimentary colours.<br />
